We are looking for volunteers who speak English as their first language, no experience is necessary.  In return for giving us your time we will provide you with free accomodation and fantastic hospitality! Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the school year as well as during the summer break at the Nazareth school when we run a more relaxed summer school. 

The school follows a basically British curriculum with all the plans being written for the teachers. The school has termly topics which all classes focus upon in the mornings ( 8.30 – 11.45 ) From 11.45 – 12.30 the students do “ specialist subjects ” – p.e. / music / reading etc.  After lunch, pupils do numeracay and literacy hours ( or Amharic – the national language ). As the government does not really give many guidelines or inspections we have freedom to teach what we think is appropriate – thus any good ideas that you have or any areas of expertise that you have can easily be integrated into the curriculum.

Addis Ababa - accomodation is available either in a room at the school itself or with the headmaster and his family.

Nazareth - accomodation is available in the house of the headmaster's mother which is within walking distance from the school.
